Anti-Bullying

We believe that all students require and deserve a safe and civil school environment. Bullying causes physical, psychological and emotional harm to students and interferes with their ability to learn and participate in school activities.

In accordance with CPS regulations and Illinois state law, bullying at Ravenswood is strictly prohibited. All students are taught positive behaviors towards others and older students must sign and agree to our anti-bullying rules.

At Ravenswood, we actively work to prevent bullying. We set clear expectations on what is appropriate behavior for our students. Our social-emotional approach to teaching promotes positive relationship building and encourages students to speak out if they hear bullying, degrading language, bias or prejudice. We establish predictable responses and effective disciplinary practices to address the root cause of bullying, teach skills, build empathy and repair harm.

Our students are taught positive discipline and social-emotional behaviors. These include building a peaceful classroom environment.
