Differentiated Instruction

Each student comes to class with his or her own skills, learning styles and experiences. To ensure that each student is offered challenging, appropriate instruction, teachers assess students through regular benchmark assessments as well as daily informal observations. Teachers use this information to provide appropriate tasks, individual supports and to plan student groupings.

The teacher offers fluid instruction as students plateau and progress. The goal is to keep each student both challenged and supported. Students may move among groups throughout the school year, depending on their comfort level with each subject area.
