Spring Forward - an AMAZING kickoff to March!

Dear Ravenswood Families and Friends,

Wow. Thank you to everyone who joined us Saturday night for our annual Spring Forward Benefit. It was AMAZING! Thank you to the many, many parents who volunteered their time, expertise and resources to make last night happen.

Through Friends of Ravenswood School (FORS), our community allows us to fund an entire arts teaching position every year and that enables us to provide students with the comprehensive and enriching experience they receive at Ravenswood. I can't say this often enough: Ravenswood is a great place for our students to learn and grow because YOU make it great. Thank you for constantly believing in our school, your students, our staff and community. There are a ton of amazing CPS schools out there...and we have something really special here.

A few big ticket items to put on your radar in the coming month below:

America to Me: We will host our third and final screening and discussion of America to Me on Wednesday, March 27th at 6:30PM in the Learning Lab. These are stand alone sessions and you do not need to have attended a previous session to attend. If you haven't yet made it to a screening yet, please join us for a critical and needed conversation about race, equity and access in our school. We need you there!

The Artist Test Formerly Known As PARCC: The Illinois Assessment for Readiness will be given to 3-8 graders at Ravenswood on April 2-4. This assessment is the same assessment students have taken for the past several years. We will take it as an entire school for the three days. More information will be forthcoming, but the test is given in reading and math. Students who do not take the test will stay in their classroom and be provided with an alternate silent academic activity.

Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences: Mark your calendars for report card pick up on April 10th. This is an absolutely critical time to touch base with your student's teacher on their progress.

Spring Showcase: It's going down Friday, April 12th. We will have a morning and an afternoon showcase- you do not want to miss this!

Have a great week, everyone.
