Our Second Grade Teachers
Please feel free to email your student’s teacher directly to discuss any questions or concerns.
I am originally from Wisconsin, and moved to Chicago to serve in City Year, an AmeriCorps program. After completing my masters in education at National-Louis University, I started my teaching career in the Chicago Public Schools in 2008. Since then, I have taught kindergarten, second, and third grade.
I’m so excited to join the team at Ravenswood! Teaching and working with children has truly been a gift in my life, and I strive to create a classroom environment of respect, purpose, and collaboration. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, practicing yoga, and spending time with my family and my puppy, Georgia.
I am excited to be at Ravenswood School! I began my career as a pre-k teacher in rural Mississippi, and I have been in early childhood and elementary education since.
I received my B.A. from Holy Cross (MA) and am pursuing my M.S. in Child Development at Erikson. I am excited to be teaching at Ravenswood! In my free time, I like to play read, swim, travel, and play ultimate frisbee.
I am so excited to begin a new school year with the Ravenswood team! I joined the Ravenswood team in February of last school year and can not wait to see what this year has in store! I am passionate about teaching your children as much as I am passionate about learning from your children and can not wait to grow with the Ravenswood community as a lifelong learner!
I grew up in the city of Chicago, and attended CPS for elementary and high school. In 2016, I graduated from Northeastern Illinois university with a BA in Special Education. A quick Fun fact: I graduated from Ravenswood in 2006! So my history with the school runs quite deep and I couldn’t be happier to now be a part of the staff here to make the impact that was made on me all those years ago!
Outside of school, I enjoy being outside and all outdoor activities (the mountains in Colorado have a piece of my heart) going on adventures with my husband (yay newlyweds) and dog Harley, and hula hoop dancing! I also enjoy spending time with my nephew Niko, and twin nieces Abby and Katie!
I am so excited to start this school year and am looking forward to getting to know our students and their parents!
