I grew up in the suburb Darien, Illinois and attended Hinsdale South HS. In 2008, I graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and have earned three education-related Master’s degrees since. I started teaching in 2009 and started at Ravenswood in 2016. In my free time, I enjoy bargain shopping and cheering on Chicago/Fighting Illini sports teams. I love being an inclusion teacher because I am able to make learning meaningful for all students, no matter their ability level, learning preferences, or unique interests.
Ms. Manocha is originally a Jersey girl! From New Jersey where she was born, she moved around quite a bit until she went to college at Penn State University. She graduated in 1998 with a B.S.in Family Therapy and Social Work, then went to NYU to get her Master’s Degree and Elementary Education Certification. She taught in New York from 2001 until she got married and moved to Chicago in 2011.
Ms. Manocha has been teaching at Ravenswood since 2011, and is grateful to be part of such an amazing community! She lives in Logan Square with her husband, her French Bulldog, Georgia, and her baby Kavi (Ku-vee)! She is currently seeking an ELL endorsement at UIC. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, dancing, reading and being outdoors.
Ms. Stallard grew up in Skokie, IL and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University. She then moved to New York where she taught in East Harlem as a member of Teach for America, and earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Hunter College. After spending a year working with education organizations in India and Central America, she made her way back home to Chicago and worked as an instructional coach at South and West Side schools for two years. She was eager to get back into the classroom and spend everyday with students, and she could not be more thankful that she ended up at Ravenswood!
Ms. Stallard has now been teaching since 2010 and have been at Ravenswood since 2015.
Her approach to teaching aligns with Ravenswood’s focus on whole-child education, inclusion, social-emotional learning, inquiry, and arts-integration. When she’s not at school, she loves spending time outside, cooking, doing yoga, and enjoying good music.
